Araceli Lara-López
Dr. Araceli Lara is Project Manager at Miramoon Pharma, where she combines her scientific expertise with a strong focus on translational development. She earned her Industrial PhD in Neuroscience at Miramoon Pharma in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute. Her doctoral research centered on Inherited Retinal Dystrophies, particularly Retinitis Pigmentosa, played a key role in advancing MP-004 therapeutic candidate.
She has developed expertise across the preclinical spectrum, including the use of animal and cellular models, ocular imaging, and molecular biology techniques. She has led key preclinical studies, authored several publications in peer-reviewed international journals, and contributed to validating MP-004’s therapeutic strategy. Since 2025, she has further specialized in project management for regulatory development, taking on responsibilities that bridge science and operations: experimental design, data analysis, coordination with CROs, and preparation of scientific and technical documentation for interactions with the regulatory agencies. She recently joined the Management Committee of the European COST Action Retina4Future, a research and innovation network that promotes interdisciplinary research into retinal diseases.
Dr. Lara combines a strong scientific background with a dedicated focus on translational research. She is part of a new generation of researchers who successfully bridge academia and industry, integrating technical expertise with regulatory awareness. Her work is driven by the commitment to advance innovative discoveries into tangible therapeutic solutions, with the aim of improving the lives of patients affected by retinal diseases.
